Memories behind the Spicy Chilli Tomato Sauce

One evening, I and my daughter take fish fingers as starters. She serves the food in a delicate way with tomato sauce. I don’t like spicy food and can’t seem to stop getting hiccups after eating it. I mentioned the colour of the sauce and she informed me that it was a new Maggi product. Oh my God, that was so spicy. That was, in fact, her own preparation.

Ingredients used in the Spicy Chilli Tomato Sauce

Dry Red Chilli – A condiment that adds pungency and colour to cuisine is dry red chilli. It is commonly used to enhance the flavour of dishes. The chilles have a pungent flavour.

It has a rich source of Vitamin C, E and Antioxidants. Health benefits are – 1) helps in supporting the immune system and combat chronic diseases, 2) prevents heart diseases, 3) helps in clearing blockages in blood vessels and arteries, 4) manages blood sugar level, 5) good for skin and 6) helpful for weight loss.

Tomato – Tomatoes are the edible berries of the Solanum Lycopersicum plant, also known as the tomato plant. Western South America and Central America are the origins of the species. Tomatoes range in size from 1 to 10 cm in diameter, depending on the cultivar.

It contains Vitamin C, potassium, choline and antioxidants. Health benefits are – 1) lowers the blood sugar level, 2) protects from cancer, 3) increases the heart health, 4) good for eye, skin, 5) reduces diabetics and 6) during pregnancy, it protects against neural tube abnormalities in babies.

Sugar and salt are used to taste and balance the sauce.

Vinegar is used mainly for preservation.

Tips for Spicy Chilli Tomato Sauce

♥ Soak dry red chillies for at least 2 hours in water. The more water you soak the chilli in, the softer it will become. And the paste will be silky smooth. The lentil seeds will not have a gritty texture.

♥ Peel off the skin of tomatoes properly. Full boiled tomato is required to peel off the skin easily.

♥ Sugar is used for the balance of the sauce. You can add more sugar to your own taste if you do not want the sauce so spicy.

♥ Olive oil makes the texture of the sauce silky smooth.

How to preserve the Sauce

♦ Add 1 tsp of vinegar and blend.
♦ Store the sauce in an airtight container
♦ The sauce can be stored for up to one month.

Tomato sauce can be made in a variety of ways with a variety of ingredients. For those who prefer a more spicy flavour, try the Spicy Chilli Tomato Sauce. This sauce can be made at any time of year. Just carefully preserve the sauce.

Step 1

Soak all dry red chillies in a bowl for 2 hours.

Step 2

Take a saucepan. Pour half of the water into the saucepan.

Step 3

Add 1 tbsp olive oil and one pinch of salt. Let the water boil.

Add tomatoes to the boiled water. Boil tomatoes until the skin is peeled off.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and set it aside to cool.

Take a mixer jar. Put chopped dry red chillies and garlic cloves. Add sugar, salt and 1 tbsp olive oil. Paste it.

Step 8

Peel the skin of tomatoes and chop them.

In the same mixer jar, combine the diced tomatoes with dry red chilli, and garlic paste.

Step 10

Add 1 tbsp olive oil and paste it smoothly.

Step 11

Pour the smooth paste into a bowl.

Step 12

Add 1 or 2 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp vinegar and mix them well.

Step 13

Spicy Chilli Tomato Sauce is ready to taste.

Step 14

Serve it with any Pakora, Fries or Snacks.
